Weather-source notice

Original NOAA/NWS material is not subject to Lanternacre copyright. Weather products are attributed to their actual issuing source. NOAA/NWS do not endorse or sponsor this application. Titles, organization and inferred dates created by the application are Lanternacre interpretations and are not official government products. Original source bytes are retained unchanged.

Use the issuing source and each product’s reuse terms when sharing copies. The local reader and integration routes include identifiable NWS forecast/warning families that pass the application’s rights screen. The screen withholds unresolved, foreign, restricted, malformed and test material from that shared view. Preserve attribution and check product-specific conditions before distributing copies. NWS reuse guidance covers attribution, endorsement, modification conditions and third-party material.

System capabilities and dependencies

Weather Relay uses macOS-provided Swift/SwiftUI, AppKit, Foundation, Network, CryptoKit and ServiceManagement frameworks and runtimes. The local viewer and integration endpoints use loopback on the customer’s Mac.

SQLite is used via Apple's system libsqlite3. SQLite's authors dedicate the deliverable library to the public domain, including commercial use: https://www.sqlite.org/copyright.html

zlib is used via Apple's system libz. zlib permits commercial use subject to its published conditions. The zlib implementation is not copied or bundled. Acknowledgment: Jean-loup Gailly and Mark Adler, https://zlib.net/zlib_license.html

RelaySupport.c and the ZIP parser are original Lanternacre application code. They call system zlib and SQLite interfaces.

No Weather Message, WxReTran or WxRadar code, artwork, interface or branding is included. No vendor binaries were reverse-engineered.

Read source products and clocks

Use the original product’s native actions, areas and validity times to follow warning state. Use reception, archive and export times to understand local collection and transport. Read history notices and source provenance when assessing coverage. Synthetic test material stays separate from official shared weather.

Image and location attribution

Lanternacre supplies company artwork and a radar-sweep app icon as application resources. The app uses the radar resource in the header and Settings/About and assigns it to application identity at startup. Native Apple SF Symbols are supplied by the operating system.

Image metadata refers to the official NWS EMWIN Image and Text Data Capture Catalogue v1.3n (October 30, 2024). Original NWS/NOAA graphics, source attribution and legends are preserved. Foreign METEOSAT/EUMETSAT, MTSAT/JMA and uncatalogued images remain local until their reuse rights are established. NWS/NOAA do not endorse Lanternacre.

Census ACS2025 TIGERweb boundaries and representative points are geographic reference data. Census ZCTAs approximate ZIP areas and are not USPS delivery/address boundaries. Live NWS geographic responses and labeled Apple Core Location place results support discovery, not source qualification or exact-address warning acceptance. Apple software/services are system capabilities, not bundled copied implementations.

Comparable feature descriptions were read from vendor public pages; no weather vendor source, executable, UI artwork or branding was copied into this application. The independently written selection, viewer, animation and speech controls are Lanternacre code.

No third-party connector executable is bundled.
