Lanternacre software · Mac application
A Mac client for NOAA’s eEMWIN service. Receive weather bulletins and weather maps in one local workspace, then search, review, and retain what matters.
In development · Private review

Purpose
I built Weather Relay because a stream of weather information is only useful if you can find the right item, understand when it arrived, and keep the original record close at hand.
It gives me a single Mac workspace for NOAA eEMWIN bulletins, satellite imagery, forecast maps, watches, warnings, and advisories. I can search the received material, return to earlier versions, and use the details on screen without moving between separate viewers.
What it does
01
Filter by product type and search names, codes, or original text. Open a bulletin with its native heading, receipt history, and original source text together.
02
Browse satellite imagery and NOAA weather products in the same workspace. Each map view carries its source, image time, first-received time, and the original image.
03
Move through retained map versions or animate a series at a chosen frame hold. Earlier versions remain available for review alongside the latest received image.
Local monitoring
Weather Relay can keep configurable local alert rules, a received-warning map and event history, saved dashboards, decoded retained station observations, and receiver-health details. These tools read the local retained library; they do not start another collector or establish all-clear, product validity, or nationwide completeness.
Alerts and health notifications start off and use macOS permission when you enable them. Current receiving-session requests, backfill, and retained history remain separate so you can read the right clock and review the original product. See the guide to local monitoring for limits and choices.
