Weather Relay private-review setup

Weather Relay is in private review and is not currently offered for public download. Private reviewers receive edition-specific installation instructions directly from Lanternacre. The first-run workflow below documents the reviewed Mac experience; it does not announce public availability or a release date. Open the app

  1. Open Weather Relay from Applications after completing the edition’s installation steps.
  2. Review the receiver and library status. On first setup, the Store edition prepares a fresh local library in application-support storage. Later opens use the saved Store-edition library. Fresh defaults are seven days and 512 MB; an existing Store-edition library supplies its accepted settings. Receiving starts manually in a fresh setup.
  3. Follow any storage-choice message before starting collection. Choose a fresh parent where Lanternacre Weather History is available as a new child. Grant access in the folder picker. An existing child directs you to choose another parent.
  4. For a previously created Store-edition library whose access needs renewal, choose Renew saved folder access and select its parent. The app verifies its saved identity. Start becomes available when storage is ready.

Keep earlier review-edition history with its original app and folder. Use Lanternacre’s website to request release-specific help with that material, full-library backup or recovery.

Choose collection and automatic-start settings

Keep the Mac awake and connected, then click Start receiving. Use Stop receiving and wait for Stopped when ending collection. Use the separate viewer buttons for the same-Mac browser service.

After an eligible bulletin or weather map loads, Share appears beside Save a copy. Share opens the standard macOS picker so you can choose a service and recipient. See the user guide and Privacy for the temporary-copy and data-handling details.

Review Resume receiving when the application opens and Start when I log in as separate choices. The login setting reflects macOS registration. Done applies the displayed library settings and saves the receiving preference; applying retention can expire eligible content. Follow the library instructions when choosing those settings.

Prepare an update or request recovery help

Read the matching release’s installation/update instructions at Lanternacre’s website. Close the viewer, stop receiving/speech/animation and use the app’s Quit command. Wait for actual app/writer exit before copying or moving history. If completion is unconfirmed, keep the files in place and report the message. Keep the existing app and complete library intact while obtaining release-specific backup, recovery or earlier-history guidance.

Use the user guide for daily controls and Privacy for network recipients, local data and the profile-reset workflow.
